MOCA and GMP Compliance

MOCA – Materials and Articles Intended to Come into Contact with Food are materials and components intended to come into direct or indirect contact with food products. European legislation establishes specific requirements to ensure that such materials do not transfer substances to food in quantities that could compromise its safety or alter its characteristics.

Elastotech applies GMP – Good Manufacturing Practices, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 2023/2006, in the production of its industrial seals intended for the Food & Beverage sector, implementing specific procedures to ensure safety, control and compliance throughout the entire production process.

The application of GMP involves careful selection and verification of raw materials, controlled management of production processes, prevention of cross-contamination and full traceability, from the raw material batch through to the finished product. The quality control system also includes documented procedures and, where required, specific migration testing to verify the product’s suitability for food contact.

For Elastotech, operating in accordance with MOCA requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices means providing customers in the food industry with reliable, controlled and compliant sealing products, supported by the relevant documentation and, where applicable, the MOCA Declaration of Compliance.

As a further guarantee of the quality and safety of its processes, Elastotech has chosen to certify its management and production system according to GMP requirements. The compliance of the system is verified and certified by DNV, an independent certification body, through specific inspection and verification activities.
